Sergey Afanasyev leads Pierre-Yves Corthals in first Spa practice
Sergey Afanasyev headed Pierre-Yves Corthals in the first free practice session of the TCR International Series weekend at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Craft-Balboo Lukoil driver lapped the legendary circuit in 2:34.914 and was five tenths of a second than local driver Corthals, both driving SEATs.
Reigning champion Stefano Comini claimed the third fastest time in his Leopard Racing prepared Volkswagen Golf, just below one second from the fastest time of the session.
Pepe Oriola made it three SEATs in the top four by claiming the fourth fastest time, 1.157 seconds from team mate Afanasyev in P1.
Frenchman Jean-Karl Vernay, team mate to Comini, was fifth fastest ahead of Dušan Borković, with the fastest Honda driver in the form of Aku Pellinen in seventh position for WestCoast Racing.
James Nash rounded off the top eight for Team Craft-Bamboo Lukoil.
Jimmy Clairet managed to just breach the top ten in his Sébastien Loeb Racing prepared Peugeot, lapping the circuit in 2:37.324, just over 2.4 seconds from the fastest time.
