Attila Tassi’s SEAT León repaired for race day (video)

B3 Racing driver Attila Tassi’s B3 Racing SEAT León has been repaired overnight by the Hungarian team following a last lap crash on Friday, with the 16-year-old set to take part in the race from fourth on the grid in this afternoon’s second race.

Tassi’s car ploughed into Pouhon on the final lap, with the car mounting the tyre barrier, but the young Hungarian emerged from the incident unscathed, and a review of the damage to the car after the race showed no damage to the shell, with just front-end repairs needed to the León TCR.

“Actually the accident was more spectacular than severe,” said Tassi. “I had a puncture in one of the front tyres and went off. There was nothing I could do to avoid going straight into the tyre-wall. It was a big shunt but, luckily enough, the tyres are quite thick there and that limited the damage, although images on TV were quite dramatic.”
