Jordi Oriola targeting return with the Opel Astra TCR soon

Jordi Oriola returns to the TCR International Series grid this weekend with the Honda Civic TCR, run by last year’s champions Target Competition, but the team have recently resumed testing with the new Opel Astra and hope to be back on track with the new car soon.

Oriola, who started the season with the Astra TCR in Bahrain before the German marque stood the car down to continue its development, raced last time out in Imola with a new JAS Motorsport-built Civic TCR, and will race at the Salzburgring with the car again this weekend, but since Imola has embarked on a further test programme with the Astra at Oschersleben, which is also the next event on the calendar.

“We are developing well the Astra TCR and after the last test in Germany, I am sure that we will return to racing with Opel,” said Oriola. “Meanwhile, we will continue with the championship but with the Honda Civic TCR. This season my goal is to have experience in this championship, but as a personal challenge I will try to improve on my previous performance in Imola.”
