No more to come from the Honda, says fourth-placed Gianni Morbidelli

WestCoast Racing’s Gianni Morbidelli says this weekend in Russia will be one of damage limitation for the Swedish team, as the Honda Civic TCR driver qualified in fourth position for Race 1 behind the SEATs and Volkswagens of Craft-Bamboo and Leopard Racing.

The Italian sits sixth in the drivers’ standings, 33 points behind championship leader Pepe Oriola after qualifying, and says that they wrenched the maximum out of the JAS Motorsport-built Civic at the Sochi Autodrom.

“I cannot be entirely satisfied today,” he said. “I really believe we simply limited the damage…the truth is that we are less competitive than expected here and that we have probably reached the ceiling of our potential on this race track.”
