Alfa Romeo will run just one car for Petr Fulín at Buriram
Mulsanne Racing will field just the one Giulietta TCR this weekend for Czech driver Petr Fulín in the TCR International Series race at Buriram, after a last-minute replacement was not found.
The team have decided to focus their attention on just Fulín’s car after Italian driver Michela Cerruti was forced to withdraw from the weekend due to illness, and is recuperating at home.
The team had tried to find a replacement to fill the car, but the majority of available Thai drivers are already competing this weekend with other teams in the TCR Thailand championship, which will race alongside the TCR International Series competitors this weekend.
“We are obviously very sorry because she couldn’t join us in Thailand, but the most important thing is that she gets better soon in light of the next races,” said team manager Claudio Bortoletto. “We will focus on Petr Fulín’s car, hoping we can continue to make progress in the wake of the good results we achieved in Russia where we scored points in qualifying and both races. It won’t be easy, because most of our competitors have the advantage of having raced here last year.”
It will be Fulín’s fourth outing for the team after joining the squad at the Salzburgring in June. The Czech driver is combining his TCR programme with Mulsanne Racing with his title tilt for the European Touring Car Cup, which he jointly leads with just one weekend remaining.
Fulín will be unavailable to drive for Mulsanne Racing for tenth round of the TCR series at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia however as it clashes with the ETCC finale in Imola, Italy.
