Filipe de Souza joins TCR International Series in Singapore

Filipe de Souza will make his 2016 TCR International Series debut at this weekend’s round of the championship at the Marina Bay circuit in Singapore, driving a third Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR for Engstler Motorsport.

The Macanese driver already competes with the Engstler team in the TCR Asia Series, which means he’ll also complete the season with the final two TCR International Series races sharing grids with the Asia Series in Malaysia and Macau.

De Souza currently sits fifth in the TCR Asia Series drivers’ championship table, one point behind Team Thailand’s Tin Sritrai, and is still in contention for second in the standings, while the championship is led by team-mate Andy Yan by a comfortable margin after the Hong Kong driver scored a double victory last time out in Shanghai.
