Craft-Bamboo Racing withdraw appeal over Opel & Alfa turbos

Craft-Bamboo Racing have confirmed they have withdrawn their appeal over Opel and Alfa Romeos turbochargers, which was lodged last week after their original protest over the legality of the Astra and Giuliettas was rejected by the stewards after the Salzburgring races.

The SEAT team had launched a protest post-race against the four of the two manufacturer’s cars which finished in front of their own cars at the Austrian circuit, which was rejected by the stewards on Sunday evening based on the report of the technical delegate.

The team then lodged an appeal in line with TCR’s sporting regulations with the Swiss ASN, but have now withdrawn that appeal following further developments.

“We have withdrawn our appeal and the issues (regarding turbos) we have had will be solved in the coming races,” said team principal Richard Coleman to TouringCarTimes.

“We are also happy and commend TCR for releasing the boost pressure permitted for each model this week. I don’t wish to make any further comment.”
