Jaap van Lagen to make TCR International Series return in third Team WRT entry

Team WRT will field a third Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR at Oschersleben for Dutch driver Jaap van Lagen, who drove for the team at Monza earlier this season.

The move comes to strengthen the support for the team’s first driver Jean-Karl Vernay in his fight for the title, as the Frenchman lies third in the standings, 13 points behind leader Attila Tassi.

Van Lagen showed promising pace at Monza, but engine issues hampered his progress in Race 1, being forced to an engine change. Starting from the back of the grid for Race 2, he made his way to 11th place at the chequered flag.

Rob Huff has been confirmed to continue racing for the Belgian team for the remainder of the season.
