Giacomo Altoè tops wet shake down session at Oschersleben

16-year-old Italian Giacomo Altoè was fastest of all in the 10-minute shake down session on Sunday morning at Oschersleben, with light rain continuing to fall on the circuit following overnight rain.

The WestCoast Racing Volkswagen driver’s best lap came right at the end of the session, a 1:46.014, just under a tenth of a second faster than Comtoyou Audi driver Frédéric Vervisch, while the M1RA Honda of Roberto Colciago was half a second behind in third.

Altoè’s time was 15 seconds slower than team-mate Gianni Morbidelli’s pole position time from yesterday.

Only 14 cars decided to take part in the shake down, with the three Craft-Bamboo Racing SEATs and three Team WRT Volkswagens most notable in their absence from the session.

The first race is scheduled for 12:35 CET.
