Duncan Ende comes to Thailand on the back of career-best result in Germany
Icarus Motorsports’ driver Duncan Ende was quick in the early stages of the first practice session at the Buriram circuit, with the American driver heading to Thailand on the back of his best result eight weeks’ ago in Germany.
The SEAT León driver finished seventh in the dramatic race which marked the end of the TCR International Series European leg in July, scoring his first championship points of the season.
“It took a little longer getting there than I would have liked, and we did have a little help in front of us,” said Ende to TouringCarTimes. “On the Saturday in Germany, we had some set-up issues; the car drove like a front-end loader – so a pretty hellish Saturday turned into a pretty good Sunday.”
Ende is back in the team’s León TCR this weekend, and finished the first session in 18th after running in the top ten early on, after having seen off the best of his tyres.
“I’m still getting up to speed here. I’ve had a little bit of simulator time to learn it, but I’ve not found that good a model of the track. We went out on two new sets of tyres, but by the time I had figured things out, the tyres were dead.”
