Prodrive Racing and Garry Rogers Motorsport unveil retro liveries

The retro liveries ahead of the Supercars Championship endurance round at the Sandown 500 keep coming in with Prodrive Racing Australia, Garry Rogers Motorsport, Erebus Motorsport and Walkinshaw Racing unveiling their editions for the race.

Chaz Mostert of Prodrive Racing Australia will sport a livery from the 1999 season, originally raced by John Briggs.

“Retro round is a great concept and it is nice to be able to recognise a bit of Supercheap Auto’s 20-year history in the sport this weekend at the Sandown 500,” Mostert said.

“We ran one of their retro liveries last year which was a lot of fun and got a great fan response so hopefully the fans really like what we’ve got this year. John Briggs played a big role in Supercheap Auto’s entry to the sport so hopefully we can do him proud.”

Garry Rogers Motorsport driver James Moffat will run a tribute livery to his father Allan Moffat.

“In my opinion the livery for the #34 is the best I have seen. I would love to claim the credit for the idea, but all the credit must go to James,” said Rogers to supercars.com.

“Moff came and saw me and said it was 30 years this year that his dad raced the Rothmans VL Commodore at Spa and asked if it was possible to recreate that car.”
