SEAT encourage other manufacturers to join the new E TCR

SEAT has announced that they might enter the Cupra e-Racer, the world’s first 100% electric touring car, in ”TCR events” during 2018 and encourage other manufacturers to start development of cars for the new E TCR concept.

“We are committed to the E TCR because we are convinced that the future of competition is in electric motors,” said SEAT Vice-president for R&D Matthias Rabe.

”Just as the SEAT León Cup Racer laid the technical foundations of the TCR category, once again we are blazing trails in this new experience. We encourage the other car manufacturers to join us in this amazing adventure.”

SEAT has not specified details on which race events they could take part in with the e-Racer during this season but state that the purpose is to fine-tune the car ahead of the planned launch of E TCR as a championship in 2019.
