David Reynolds claimed his first non-endurance victory for Erebus Motorsport in the fourth and final Supercars championship race in Melbourne, crossing the line one second ahead of Brad Jones Racing driver Nick Percat.

Chaz Mostert came home in fourth for Tickford Racing as the top Ford driver ahead of Scott Pye, who claimed his maiden Supercars victory yesterday, in fifth for Walkinshaw Andretti United.

The DJR Team Penske duo of Fabian Coulthard and Scott McLaughlin claimed positions six and seven while Michael Caruso was once again the top Nissan Motorsport driver in eighth position.

There was one safety car period during the race as Garry Rogers Motorsport driver James Golding stopped on track due to a mechanical failure

Championship leader Shane van Gisbergen started from the back of the field and made strong progress up the order during the race. The Triple Eight Race Engineering driver started 26th and climbed eight position just on the opening lap.

Van Gisbergen crossed the line in 13th position and continues on top of the standings on 486 points, with Reynolds in second on 437 points, McLaughlin third on 425 points. Whincup is still suffering from his troubled season opener in Adelaide and is sixth on 379 points.
