Josh Cook given five-place grid penalty for Oulton Park finale

BTC Racing’s Josh Cook has been given a five-place grid penalty for the final race of the weekend at Oulton Park, after an incident which removed his team-mate Chris Smiley and Team Hard’s Jack Goff from the second race.

Stewards deemed Cook was responsible for a clash with Goff on the opening lap, where he tagged the Volkswagen CC heading into the Island hairpin and Goff speared into the side of Smiley’s Honda Civic Type R.

Cook will now start eighth for the final race, while Goff’s car was too badly damaged to be repaired in time to take part.

ExcelR8 Motorsport’s Rob Smith will also sit out the final encounter after his last-lap incident with Team Hard’s Michael Crees in the second race.
