Target Competition “not worried” over ECU check outcome

Target Competition team owner Andreas Gummerer says he is “not worried” about the outcome of the technical checks carried out on provisional TCR Europe Series champion Josh Files’ ECU following the Monza season-finale.

The Series announced after the final race of the season that the results of Monza – and therefore Files’ title – would remain provisional pending an ECU investigation by the Technical Delegate of the Hyundai i30 N TCR.

When contacted by TouringCarTimes, a TCR Europe spokesperson said that the results of these technical checks would be available on the November 15th.

Target team boss Gummerer is confident everything was above board in his cars during the final round of the year.

“I am not worried about this at all as I know that we have done everything correct,” Gummerer told TouringCarTimes.

“At the end of the day, we won the championship and did an amazing season. If they find anything in the ECU, then it is certainly not something we have done wrong.”
