Monza results remain provisional pending technical check of Josh Files’ Hyundai

The result of the final TCR Europe series round of the season at Monza will remain provisional until technical checks of Josh Files’ title-winning Hyundai ECU are carried out, the Series has announced.

Files clinched the title with victory in the second race of the weekend, beating JSB Compétition’s Julien Briché by 38 points.

While there are no changes to the finishing order in the last race, the final result will not be confirmed until the software of the ECU are inspected by the TCR Technical Delegate.

Marcello Lotti, the president of WSC Group, said: “Our aim is always to keep TCR competition at the highest and fairest level, which is why we give priority to thorough technical checks. We understand that this is not the ideal situation for the promoter and the competitors, but this is what our technical department has deemed appropriate to enable complete technical checks.”

Files will still be awarded his trophy for winning the championship at the prize giving ceremony near Milan later this evening.
