Nicola Baldan gets Race 2 podium finish back

Nicola Baldan has got his third place finish reinstated in the second TCR Europe race at Paul Ricard following a post-race investigation requested by his PMA Motorsport team.

The Italian finished the race in third but dropped to fourth behind Junui Park following a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits at Turn 2 earlier in the race.

But as the stewards reviewed his onboard camera after the race, they could determine that Baldan went off the track following contact with Tiago Pernía and that he was ahead of the Argentinian driver before the incident.

The new results hands Baldan two further points, meaning that the gap to team-mate and points leader Nicolas Taylor drops from 20 to 18 points.

Mike Halder was handed a 25-second post-race penalty for remaining on the racing line after getting a puncture during the final lap and causing a collision with Santiago Concepción.

Victor Weyrich, who led the race until a technical issue forced him to retire, has been handed a three-place grid penalty for the next race for jumping the start.

Alex Ley got a five-second penalty for an incident with Max Hart and Felipe Fernández.
