WSC Group takes over promotion of TCR Europe
WSC Group, the owner of the TCR concept, will take over the promotion of TCR Europe from the 2027 season.
The move comes after the announcement that Rubén Fernández is to leave the role at the end of the current campaign, having spent the past two seasons helping the series to grow.
WSC’s move to take over promotion of the series has been taken to ‘strengthen the TCR platform worldwide’, whilst also ‘preserving the identity and independence of each series’.
It means TCR Europe joins the TCR World Tour in being promoted by WSC from next season.
“The TCR concept has grown into a truly global motorsport platform, and we believe the time has come to take further steps towards a more coordinated and structured approach to its future development,” WSC chief Marcello Lotti said.
“Taking direct responsibility for the promotion of TCR Europe is part of this vision. We want to reinforce the connections between our championships, create new opportunities for competitors and manufacturers, and ensure that TCR continues to develop on solid and sustainable foundations.
“TCR Europe has demonstrated its strength and potential over the past two seasons. I would like to thank Rubén Fernández for his commitment and the valuable contribution he has made to the championship’s development.
“We are pleased to continue working with the existing operational team, whose experience and dedication will be essential in building on what has been achieved. Our objective is not simply to maintain the success of TCR Europe, but to strengthen its position within the international TCR family and create the conditions for its continued growth in the years ahead.”
The 2027 calendar will be revealed this weekend as part of the 2026 season finale in Spain.
