TCR Europe announces 30-car field for Monza

The TCR Europe field will grow to 30 cars for this weekend’s round at Monza, the largest grid of the series since 2019.

The series returns to action following its summer break with Nicolas Taylor leading the standings by 14 points over Monlau Motorsport driver Viktor Andersson.

Andersson’s team-mate Marco Butti is just one further point behind, while Taylor’s PMA Motorsport team-mate Nicola Baldan sits 24 points from the championship lead.

A number of new and returning drivers will join the regulars at Monza, including 2025 title contender Teddy Clairet.

The Frenchman returns to TCR Europe with series newcomer Vannin Motorsport, driving an Audi RS 3 LMS alongside British racer Luke Sargeant.

ALM Motorsport will field no fewer than six Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCRs, adding two-time TCR UK champion Carl Boardley, 2024 STCC champion Mikael Karlsson and René Povlsen to its regular line-up of Mike Halder, Ruben Volt and Max Hart.

SP Compétition has expanded its Cupra line-up with TCR Europe newcomer Tom Pussier and returning driver Mikhail Simonov.

JSB Compétition meanwhile returns with two Hyundai Elantra N TCRs for Raphael Fournier and Julien Briché.

AIKOA Racing will also expand to two Audi RS 3 LMS cars, with the identity of Giacomo Prandelli’s team-mate yet to be confirmed.

The Monza weekend gets underway with practice on Friday, followed by qualifying and the opening race on Saturday. The reversed-grid second race will take place on Sunday.
