Gary Jacobson secures Matt Stone Racing seat

Matt Stone Racing has announced the signing of Garry Jacobson for the 2020 Supercars Championship season.

The 27-year-old, who was without a drive after Kelly Racing downsized from four cars to two, is the first driver confirmed with the Holden team – which is set to expand to two cars for the new season.

Todd Hazelwood, who drove the lone MSR entry this year, has already confirmed a move to Brad Jones Racing.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be selected by Matt Stone Racing as the first driver announced for its expanded program in 2020,” Jacobson said.

“The move for me is pretty exciting to be honest. The team has now had twelve months with a Triple Eight Race Engineering-built car, so I walk through the door with the team being comfortable with the equipment they’ll be providing me.

“Additionally, having a second car alongside in the garage will be a huge advantage and it will be a big year for everyone with that expansion.”

The team is expected to run two young drivers in the second car in a drive share arrangement.
