Tickford Racing reveal Truck Assist Mustang

Tickford Racing has pulled the covers off the #5 Truck Assist-backed Ford Mustang that will be raced by Lee Holdsworth for the 2020 Supercars Championship season.

Holdsworth ran with Bottle-O sponsorship on the car in 2019 during his first year with the team, finishing tenth in the standings with a best finish of third at Sandown – with the experienced 37-year-old scoring points in every race during the season.

With Truck Assist following Jack Le Brocq to Tickford over the winter, Holdsworth will now debut a new-look in the Adelaide 500 this weekend, with his aim being to build on the results secured last year.

“I’m absolutely pumped to get the 2020 season started, and I can’t wait to take to the track the Truck Assist Ford Mustang,” he said. “The car has come off great, and if it’s drives half as well as it looks I think we’ll be in for a really good year. Our 2019 was very solid, especially in the back half of the season.

“Sammy (Scaffidi, engineer) and I have gelled really well working together, and believe we can carry our speed from the end of last year into the new season. I’m really excited to get into it.”

Le Broq meanwhile will debut with the team in the #55 Supercheap Auto-backed entry that was raced last year by Chaz Mostert.

“I’m really looking forward to season 2020 with Supercheap Auto Racing,” he said. “Obviously it’s a big year for me, new team, new car, but I’ve really enjoyed it so far and can’t wait to get into it. The Supercheap Auto wagon’s looking good, so I’m really excited to get to Adelaide next week and give it a go on the race track.”
