Super3 Series champion earns Bathurst ride

The reigning Super3 Series champion Broc Feeney will make his debut at Bathurst later this season after being named as team-mate to James Courtney for the biggest event on the Supercars calendar.

The 17-year-old will join forces with the 2010 champion at the wheel of the Boost Mobile-backed Ford Mustang for the 1000km classic, which is currently slated to take place from 8-11 October.

Feeney is racing with the Tickford Racing squad in Super2 this season with support from Boost Mobile, and lies eighth in the standings going into this weekend’s event at Sydney Motorsport Park.

“I’m completely thrilled to be co-driving for Boost Mobile Racing this year,” he said. “It’s amazing to have the chance to compete in the Bathurst 1000.

“Like most kids, growing up I would sit down on the couch to watch the race and always dreamed of being in it, so to have this opportunity is unbelievable – and to do it in such a competitive car and with a driver as successful as JC is incredible.

“I’ve been involved with Boost Mobile since last year in Super3, and it’s been great to be involved with such a high level brand with high profile athletes around the world. To now be able to race the Boost Mobile Mustang in one of the biggest races in the world is surreal.

“I’m still pinching myself and I absolutely cannot wait to get to the Mountain in October.”
