Jack Le Brocq on maiden win: “It hasn’t really sunk in yet”

Jack Le Brocq claimed his first career Supercars championship win in the final race of the weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park and was lost for words.

“It hasn’t really sunk in yet. I don’t really know what to feel,” said Le Brocq.

The 28-year-old joined Tickford Racing ahead of this season after racing for Tekno Autosports last year, finishing 22nd overall.

“The guys at Tickford have given me an awesome car and an opportunity I suppose to try to prove that we can do the job,” said Le Brocq.

The Ford Mustang driver came under pressure from Andre Heimgartner and David Reynolds towards the end of the race but managed to stay ahead.

“Andre kept us honest there the whole time so that was pretty cool. I could see Davey was catching so he was playing the longer game,” said Le Brocq.

“I probably used up a little bit too much tyre on that first lap out the gate just to try to undercut these guys. The last five laps I was in trouble so I was hanging on.”
