Onze Motorsports confirm TCR South America entry for 2021

Brazilian team Onze Motorsports will enter the inaugural TCR South America series season in 2021, led by former Brazilian driver Flavio ‘Nonô’ Figueiredo.

The team has bought a yet to be confirmed number Audi RS 3 LMS race cars and one of them has previously been raced by Tobias Brink in the STCC TCR Scandinavia.

“We’ve chosen this model given it’s one of the most competitive in the series. We want to be serious contenders in 2021”, said Figueiredo.

The team has previously raced in the Brasileiro de Marcas, claiming the 2015 to 2017 titles.

The 49-year-old Figueiredo is a vastly experienced touring car driver who has raced in the South American Touring Car Championship in the late nineties, as well as a one-off British Touring Car Championship race in 1998 for Vauxhall.

“Nonô is a true racer, he has lots of years in motorsport, he was always involved in very good enterprises and racing series, no matter if it is as a driver, coach or team director. It’s especially important for TCR South America to have him and his team onboard,” said TCR South America promoter Maurizio Slaviero.

The TCR South America season is set to start in April 2021 and hold three events in Argentina and Brazil, plus two in Uruguay and Chile.
