Colin Turkington confident of return to form

Colin Turkington says he is confident of an improved performance when the BTCC heads for Oulton Park this weekend.

The WSR driver suffered one of the most challenging weekends of his career at Brands Hatch last time out, with 14th place in race three marking his only points finish.

Turkington has a strong record at the Cheshire circuit however with ten wins to his name, and will hope to benefit from running slightly lighter this weekend having lost ground in the standings.

“It’s up to me to bring the best version of myself to Oulton Park if I want to make inroads to the top of the standings,” he said.

“The ultra-close lap times around the short Indy circuit last time out, coupled with the weight in my car banished any hopes I had of scoring three top ten finishes, but I think Oulton will be different.

“The lap times shouldn’t be so close, and there’s scope for the driver to compensate for the weight slightly with technique. It’s one of my favourite circuits to drive and we have some pretty cool memories from there.

“We need to roll the car out on Saturday morning razor sharp and I need to be at my best.”
