Special liveries to feature across the grid in Darwin

Supercar teams will be all run special themed liveries when the series heads to Hidden Valley Raceway later this season.

The Darwin meeting will be the ‘official Indigenous Event’ on the 2022 calendar, with all teams required to run a livery featuring an indigenous theme as a result.

The likes of Triple Eight (pictured in 2008) and DJR have both run special liveries when competing in the Northern Territory previously, although such a move hasn’t been compulsory

“For the Official Supercars Indigenous Event (Merlin Darwin Triple Crown), it is compulsory for each car to have a designated Indigenous themed livery,” the new Supercars rule book reads, according to a report by Motorsport.com.

“Each team must submit a complete colour graphic illustration representing the proposed design and colour scheme that the team intends to use on the car thirty (30) days prior to the event for cultural approval/appropriateness.”
