Squadra Martino confirms Juan Ángel Rosso and Fabio Casagrande for 2022

Squadra Martino has confirmed its line-up for the 2022 TCR South America season with drivers Juan Ángel Rosso and Fabio Casagrande.

The team will field two brand new Honda Civic Type-R TCRs, having finished third overall in the teams’ championship last year.

“For us it is very important to be able to confirm our entry with Honda again, because its our second year representing JAS Motorsport and the Japanese brand, something that strengthens the bond between the team and Honda for this part of the world,” said team manager Sebastian Martino.

Rosso joined the team for the Buenos Aires endurance race last year in which he finished second with co-driver Matías Milla.

“I am really happy to join Squadra Martino after just one race last year that we were able to secure a great result from,” said Rosso.

“The idea is to establish myself in the top five and to fight for the championship. I am already looking forward to the first test so that we can start to develop the car.”

Casagrande joined the team for the fourth round of the 2021 season, having raced an Alfa Romeo for PropCar before, and finished sixth overall.

“I’m very happy to announce that I will drive full season in the championship with Squadra Martino,” said Casagrande.

“After a long time of no racing, I found out that TCR was arriving to the region and decided to return. 2021 was very challenging because my physical condition was not ideal and I had to get used to front-wheel drive.

“Now for 2022 with a more modern car and knowing the category as well as the team better, I hope to achieve more consistent results.”
