Adelaide street race return moves closer after election result

The return of the iconic Adelaide street race moves closer as the Labor party won the South Australian election, a party that has promised the return of the street race should it win.

“We congratulate Peter Malinauskas and his team on their victory in the South Australian election,” said Supercars CEO Shane Howard.

“We now look forward to working together to deliver the Adelaide 500 on the streets of Adelaide in December in what will be a spectacular season finale.”

The Adelaide race was axed in October 2020 and last season saw no Supercars Championship action on the streets for the first time since 1999.
