Will Davison breaks Darwin lap record to pole position

Will Davison broke the qualifying lap record by a thousand of a second to claim pole position for the Supercars Championship round at Darwin with a lap time of 1:04.9542.

Angon De Pasquale made it a Dick Johnson Racing 1-2, just below two tenths from pole.

Andre Heimgartner claimed third spot on the grid ahead of points leader Shane van Gisbergen and Mark Winterbottom, all three drivers within four tenths from Davison.

Walkinshaw Andretti United driver Chaz Mostert rounded off the top six, half a second from pole.

The first race of the weekend starts at 15:25 local time/07:55 CEST.
