TCR South America and TCR Spain announce collaboration

The organisers of TCR South America and TCR Spain have announced a cooperation between the two series, with the first step being that the champions will get to race in respective series.

Argentine driver Juan Ángel Rosso, a regular in TCR South America, competed in the TCR Spain race at Navarra in June behind the wheel of an Audi RS 3 LMS of Comtoyou Racing.

Under the agreement signed by the two categories, the champion of TCR South America will get assistance to race in the 2024 TCR Spain season. At the same time, the winner of the Spanish series will also secure its presence in selected South American races in the following season.

“In the quest to continue the growth of the TCR concept around the world, we worked so that today we can announce the agreement between TCR South America and TCR Spain,” said Federico Punteri, president of TCR South America.

“This is yet another sign that this new motorsport concept brings our region closer to all parts of the world. This partnership with TCR Spain is the first of many we have in mind for the future.”

“The playing field of the TCR concept transcends the borders of individual championships and provides us with a unique opportunity for cross-regional collaboration,” TCR Spain’s president Gabriel Alonso said.

“We are two twinned regions, with many points of convergence and an incredible motorsport tradition. We will continue to work hard to offer the best racing scene for drivers, teams, brands and sponsors.”
