Pedro Cardoso switches to PMO Racing for the 2024 TCR South America season

Pedro Cardoso will compete with a Peugeot 308TCR from PMO Racing in both TCR South America and TCR Brazil this season.

The Brazilian debuted in the series last year with a Hyundai Elantra N TCR from Scuderia Chiarelli, managing two podium finishes and ninth in the overall standings.

“I am very happy to announce that I will continue with TCR South America in 2024 and with a new car, the Peugeot 308,” Cardoso said in a statement. “It was a joint decision with those who manage my career and we really believe in the potential of this change.

“Last year, I spent a season adapting to the car and always fighting for pole positions and wins. Unfortunately, I was not able to convert my performance into wins and I think a big factor was the problems I had with the car. That’s why I decided to try Peugeot.”

PMO Racing boss Damián Fineschi welcomed his new driver onboard

“We are very happy to add Pedro as a driver for this new season,” he said. “He had a great great performance in 2023 and we believe that together we can be protagonists in this category, which is getting stronger and more competitive which is getting stronger and more competitive year by year. We are grateful for his confidence in us and we are looking forward to taking the car on the track and start working together.”
