Broc Feeney heads another Triple Eight 1-2 as rivals clash

Broc Feeney headed home team-mate Will Brown to another Triple Eight Race Engineering 1-2 in the third Supercars Championship race at Albert Park as their rivals collided.

Matt Payne of Grove Racing started from pole position but was beaten in the race to the first corner by fellow Ford Mustang driver Cameron Waters (Tickford Racing).

The two fought hard for the lead during the first couple of laps, a scrap ending in a spectacular crash in the last corner of the lap.

This brought out the safety car as the two Mustangs were left stranded at the exit of the corner.

The race resumed with Chevrolet drivers Feeney and Brown heading Walkinshaw Andretti United driver Chaz Mostert (Ford).

And the race was uneventful from there, with Feeney winning the race by close to two seconds ahead of team-mate Brown while Mostert claimed the final podium position, 2.7 seconds away.

David Reynolds (Chevrolet) and Jack Le Brocq (Chevrolet) rounded off the top five.

The fourth and final race of the weekend will see Mostert starting from pole position with the crash duo of Payne and Waters right behind, starting at 12:25 local time/02:25 CET.
