Ley, Covini, Park and Park added to TCR Europe Cup grid at Spa

Two Hyundais with the pairings of Junesung Park/Junui Park and Alex Ley/Gabriele Covini have joined the first TCR Europe Cup round at Spa-Francorchamps later this month.

“As TCR Europe Cup is being introduced for the first time, I’m very excited to compete in this new event,” said Junui Park.

“This will be a great opportunity to evaluate my performance and identify areas for improvement, as we’ll return to the same track for the next event of TCR Europe.”

The two South Korean drivers will race a Hyundai Elantra N TCR for Solite Indigo Racing while Ley and Covini will race an Elantra for BRC Racing Team.

The inaugural TCR Europe Cup round will take place at Spa on April 17-19 where each car will have one “semi-pro/amateur” driver and one “pro driver”.

There are no pit stops with driver changes, but rather that the amateur driver takes part in the first 20-minute qualifying session and 25-minute race on Saturday and the pro driver takes part in an identical setup on Sunday.

There are so far three entries confirmed for the first round, with the two Hyundais joining the previously announced Honda entry of Jenson Brickley and a yet to be announced co-driver.
