Michele Imberti claims pole position at Vallelunga

Kombat Motorsport driver Michele Imberti (Hyundai) claimed the pole position for the second round of the 2026 TCR Italy season at Vallelunga, during a session marked by the heat.

Cupra driver Matteo Poloni led in the initial stages of the session, but soon would Paolo Rocca (Audi) and Imberti take command. The three, together with Honda driver Ramiro Zago, would alternate at the top spot.

Imberti was the only driver to break the 1:40 barrier to score the pole position with a lap time of 1:13.915, followed by Rocca 0.153 seconds behind.

Zago qualified in third place, two-tenths off the pace, with Poloni fight behind, a further tenth adrift.

MM Motorsport driver Marco Pellegrino was fifth, albeit half-a-second behind the pole-sitter, with the Cupras of Petr Cizek and Sandro Pelatti next.

Carlo Alberto Bocca and Francesco Cardone were eighth and ninth, with Raffaele Gurrieri completing the top ten, 1.490 seconds off the pace.

The session ended prematurely with a full course yellow with two minutes to go due to an incident at Turn 7.
