Plato Racing enters administration

British Touring Car Championship team Plato Racing Limited is seeking new owners after entering administration just days after taking its maiden victory at Knockhill.

The team, which runs a pair of Mercedes-AMG A35 Saloons for Adam Morgan and Dan Rowbottom, made its debut at the start of the 2026 season and picked up two qualifying race wins before Morgan claimed its first championship race success in Scotland.

Despite the recent breakthrough performance, however, its listing released by Pantera Valuation Services confirming that the team’s ‘associated assets, intellectual property, commercial relationships and operational infrastructure’ are all now up for sale via joint administrators of Plato Racing Limited.

Its listing states that the sale of Plato Racing Limited offers ‘represents an opportunity to acquire a high-profile, operational motorsport platform with an established BTCC presence.’

The self-developed A35 Saloons made a noticeable mark on the season opener at Donington Park in April, with Rowbottom winning the Race to Pole.

The following rounds were more of a struggle but Rowbottom secured a third-place finish in race one at Thruxton before taking another two second-places at Knockhill.

Morgan won the Race to Pole and the opening championship race in Scotland, before rounding out the weekend with another second place in race three.
