V8 Supercars entry list revealed with 25 cars

The official V8 Supercars entry list for the 2014 season has been revealed with 25 drivers and cars.
“The quality and depth of this field is without doubt one of the best we have had,” said V8 Supercars CEO James Warburton.

“V8 Supercars continues to produce one of the largest grids by any global standard which will assure that we continue to see the remarkable racing, multiple race winners and close finishes that we did across 2013.”

New to the championship for 2014 are the two Volvo S60s of Valvoline Racing GRM with Scott McLaughlin and Robert Dahlgren. Nissan’s line-up remains the same while Erebus Mercedes has moved down from three to two cars.

Holden are represented by 11 Commodores, with champion Jamie Whincup at the very front with number one on the car. Ford has six Falcons on the grid with Mark Winterbottom being the best placed driver from last season as his former team-mate Will Davison has moved to Erebus Motorsport.

Compared to last year’s 28-car grid, three Racing Entitlements Contracts (RECs) missed the entry deadline: Triple F Racing, Tony D’Alberto Racing as well as the second REC of Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport, who have reduced to one car.
