Alex Buncombe pleased after first proper test with Nissan

Alex Buncombe has completed his first full test day with Nissan Motorsport ahead of his V8 Supercars debut in the 2014 endurance races.
“I’ve got a really good feel for the car today. I did some running on old tyres and new tyres, so it was good to get a balanced feeling of the car,” said Buncombe.

The Brit drove the #7 Nissan Altima at Winton which saw both wet and dry conditions.
“It was nice to get experience in both of dry and wet conditions, because we’re off to Sandown in a couple of weeks and it could very easily be wet there too. It’s such an exciting car to drive – both in the wet and the dry – but even more so in the wet. You have to be so patient on the throttle,” said Buncombe.

The first of the endurance races is the Sandown 500 on September 12-14 where Buncombe drive together with Todd Kelly.
“He worked on his cornering, sorted out his braking and finesse – he’s done a great job there. We’ve also done a heap of pit stop practice, so the day has not been wasted. It’s turned out to be a positive day for us, so we’re really looking forward to getting to Sandown and see how Alex and I shape up as a pairing,” said Kelly.
