Pre-season BTCC testing continues at Thruxton

The British Touring Car Championship teams continued testing at Thruxton with Jason Plato and Colin Turkington turning their first laps in the BMR prepared Volkswagen CCs.

Andy Priaulx continued on his second day of testing with West Surrey Racing and the multiple WTCC champion was pleased with his first lap times.

“The car is really what I expected. Coming from a GT/GTLM car it’s been quite a big transition and obviously that’s something I’ll have to get used to because it’s something I’m going to be doing throughout the year. The car didn’t do anything that made me think ‘that’s not very nice’, which is a good place to start! This is our very first roll out of the car, there were the usual little issues to iron out first thing but then I went out and set a lap time which was pretty good,” said Priaulx to btcc.net.

Honda Racing Team joined the test and ran the Civic Tourer, a model the team has announced to replace ahead of the 2015 season.

Triple Eight Race Engineering continued their test schedule with newly signed Andrew Jordan completing many laps during the test day.

Next up for the BTCC teams is the first official test of the year during the season launch event at Donington Park on March 24th.
