Robb Holland replaces Simon Belcher at Handy Motorsport

Robb Holland will substitute for Simon Belcher in the coming three British Touring Car Championship races at Handy Motorsport.

“I am, of course, very excited to be back in the championship. I’ve been working hard to put something together since I found out Rotek Racing wouldn’t be returning,” said Holland.

Holland will drive his first BTCC race this year at Snetterton on August 8-9th behind the wheel of the team’s Toyota Avensis, as Belcher will act as team principal instead due budget reasons after the massive crash he had at Thruxton in May.

“We’re obviously delighted to welcome Robb into the team, he’s exactly the sort of driver we wanted and everyone at the team is looking forward to working with him for the first time. We wanted someone with BTCC experience and a desire to try and help the team move forward, and Robb fits the bill perfectly. We can’t wait to see how he gets on at Snetterton,” said Belcher.

Holland raced for Rotek Racing in the 2014 BTCC season, driving an Audi S3 to 27th position overall, with 15th place as best result.

Belcher will return for the last two races of 2015 at Silverstone and Brands Hatch.
