JAS to provide two Honda Civic TCRs for Asia Series

JAS Motorsport built the first new Honda Civic TCRs to be sent to Asia for long-time customers Kenneth Lau and Michael Choi. The new model, which was presented in Monza at the TCR International Series race, left the team’s technological centre in Milan today.

The new customer programme will be focused on Asia for the time being, with six more deliveries set to take place by January 2016, and more cars to be prepared for TCR Benelux series next year.

Lau and Choi will use the cars in the new TCR Asia Series, which kicks off in Sepang on September, 5th and 6th, before going on to take part in the International Series’ Asian rounds in Singapore, Thailand and Macau. The first two customers have been using JAS-built Hondas ever since 2009.

“These are the first JAS TCR cars in Asia,” said Mads Fischer, Customer Support Manager for JAS Motorsport. “Kenneth and Michael have been loyal customers of JAS for years and we are delighted that they are joining the TCR category. We have a lot on enquiries from Asia and have laid down a batch of 6 cars to be ready for January delivery as we expect existing and new customers to sign up for the TCR Asia series. The Benelux series is also picking up speed quickly and we expect to have cars running there in 2016.”

Rob Huff recently confirmed he will be at the wheel of a JAS-built Honda Civic TCR for the Macau season finale.
