Andrew Jordan completes first Ford Focus test with Motorbase

Andrew Jordan got behind the wheel of the Motorbase Performance Ford Focus ST for the first time today at Brands Hatch.

The 2013 BTCC champion has joined the Kent-based squad for 2016 after a winless year at Triple Eight Racing, which nevertheless yielded fifth place in the standings.

It is not Jordan’s first track run in the off-season, as earlier this month he drove a Power Maxed Racing Chevrolet Cruze at Donington Park at the request of RML, to provide feedback on the new-for-2016 stock NGTC components.

“It’s nice to get in something that does what it should, it does a bit more what the driver’s trying to get it to do and it’s properly sorted. Even if it didn’t handle well I’m sure people will think I’ll say it handles well, but it genuinely does. I haven’t felt this confident and happy for a while,” said Jordan.

“It’s not all engine. I’ve done some long runs today and they’ve done a fantastic job with it, and I can see why they’re as dominant as they were over the second half of the season. That being said, we need to focus on next year, the goal is to win the championship, and I feel we’re going to be challenging. I’ve been in it long enough to know that you always need a bit of luck; you need things to go your way a bit. It’s going to be fun.”

TouringCarTimes’ photographic partner PSP Images were on hand at Brands today to capture Jordan’s first run in the Focus.
