Harald Proczyk leaves Sachsenring with points lead

HP Racing’s Harald Proczyk’s positive weekend at Sachsenring allowed the Austrian to jump into the lead of the ADAC TCR Germany Series, the SEAT driver passing Target Competition’s Josh Files after scoring 40 points in the second event of the season.

The advantage over the Brit went up to seven points as Proczyk finished the second heat of the day just ahead of his championship rival, extending his lead by a further two points. Benjamin Leuchter closed in on the lead as well, the Volkswagen driver now 12 points off Proczyk.

Steve Kirsch made up for a difficult first weekend in the series with a solid score of 30 points, meaning he is now up to fourth for Team Honda ADAC Sachsen, just ahead of double podium finisher Tim Zimmermann. Sachsenring Race 2 winner Antti Buri is now sixth in his SEAT, ahead of stable-mate Bas Schouten, whose second race was influenced by a contact which left him with a score of just four points in the second heat.

Mike Halder is eighth in the Liqui Moly Team Engstler SEAT, with Pascal Eberle in ninth ahead of Jurgen Schmarl, who completes the top ten.

The ADAC TCR Germany Series will be back on track in Oschersleben next month, sharing the weekend with the International Series on June 19th.
