Stat Attack: BTCC Rounds 10-12, Oulton Park

With a week having passed since the BTCC field enjoyed the sunshine of Oulton Park, it’s time to sit down and take a look at the major stats that came out of the fourth race weekend of the season.

As ever, there was some interesting information that emerged from the spreadsheets after the meeting, as can be seen below…

QUALIFYING:

Colin Turkington secured his first pole position of the season and the first for the new Subaru Levorg

Colin Turkington now has the best qualifying average of any driver using a rear wheel drive car

The Subaru Levorg became the eighth car to take a pole position in the NGTC era

Daniel Lloyd secured his maiden front row start – the first time a Eurotech car has qualified on the front row since Thruxton 2014 when Andrew Jordan snared pole

Tom Ingram, Ash Sutton, Josh Cook, Matt Neal and Aron Smith are now the only drivers to qualify inside the top ten at every meeting

Colin Turkington, Dan Lloyd, Sam Tordoff, Hunter Abbott, Jason Plato and Matt Simpson secured their best qualifying results of the season

Ash Sutton, Josh Cook, Jack Goff, Mat Jackson, Adam Morgan, Ollie Jackson, Alex Martin and Stewart Lines suffered their worst qualifying results of the year

Tom Ingram retained his position as the best qualifier on the grid ahead of MG pair Ash Sutton and Josh Cook

RACE DAY:

Colin Turkington took his first victory of the season and the first for the Subaru Levorg

Jason Plato took his first podium finishes of the season

Colin Turkington and Jason Plato picked up their first bonus points of the season

Adam Morgan continues to lead the bonus points table with five, one clear of Tom Ingram, Mat Jackson and Sam Tordoff

Colin Turkington led his first laps of the season – and the first for the Subaru Levorg. He also became the ninth driver to lead a lap this season

Gordon Shedden became the first driver to score 1,600 points in an NGTC car

Oulton Park was the first meeting this season where there were no lead changes across the three races

Mat Jackson and Sam Tordoff are now the only two drivers to have completed every racing lap this season

The 211 laps completed in 2016 is two fewer than should have been completed, largely down to the races at Thruxton being shortened

Drivers have now done battle across 386.42 miles this season, 4.65miles less than planned
