Scott McLaughlin to leave Volvo for DJR Team Penske

The long-rumoured move for Scott McLaughlin from Volvo and Garry Rogers Motorsport to DJR Team Penske in 2017 is set to be revealed on Tuesday next week according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

The New Zealander has reportedly signed a multi-million contract and will drive together with Fabian Coulthard at DJR Team Penske, running a pair of Ford Falcons.

Neither DJR Team Penske nor GRM has commented on McLaughlin’s new deal, but GRM boss Garry Rogers admitted that he knows McLaughlin has made a decision for next year.

“Yes, I do know. We understand the commercial realities of life,” said Rogers to Fairfax Media.

McLaughlin joined GRM in 2013 and was onboard from the first race when Volvo entered V8 Supercars with the team in 2014. The Kiwi is currently placed third overall in the championship with two victories so far.
