GRM confident on getting #34 Volvo S60 ready for Bathurst

V8 Supercars Volvo team Garry Rogers Motorsport is confident on getting the #34 Volvo S60 ready for the next race at Bathurst following the massive crash of co-driver James Golding in the Sandown 500.

“We’ve got the original car that we took to Kuala Lumpur last year, so there’s nothing wrong with that – there’d be no issue pulling all the bits off and putting them on that – but I think we’d rather fix the car if that’s achievable,” said team owner Garry Rogers to supercars.com.

The crash was caused by a front right puncture following contact with a competitor and Golding, co-driver to James Moffat, was able to walk away unhurt.

“He’s good as gold, he’s a little bit sore in the groin mainly. It was unfortunate,” said Rogers. “I rang his dad and spoke to him and said ‘if you don’t feel like you’re right’ don’t feel as though [you have to drive].”

The 2016 Bathurst 1000 takes place on October 9th.
