Matt Simpson joins Team Dynamics for 2017 season

Matt Simpson will return to the BTCC for a second season in 2017 having agreed a deal to join Team Dynamics – the team behind the works Honda programme.

Simpson’s partnership with the multiple championship winners will see him receive mentoring and guidance from title winning drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal as he seeks to improve on a debut season that saw him end 2016 with victory in the Jack Sears Trophy at Brands Hatch.

The former Intermarque champion will compete under the Simpson Racing banner and admitted he couldn’t wait to get started with his new team.

“I’m over the moon to be working with Team Dynamics for next year,” he said. “Their track record and pedigree speaks for itself, and we know we have a great package in the Honda Civic Type R they have developed. I can’t wait to go testing with them in the New Year.”

Team Dynamics team manager James Rodgers said he was pleased to welcome Simpson into the team.

“We’re really pleased to have Matt on-board for next season,” he said. “He was fast and reliable all year, and I now hope with our input we can help him move up the grid to the next level.”

Simpson competed with Speedworks Motorsport during his debut season.
