Dusan Borkovic announces Alfa Romeo switch

Dusan Borkovic will drive an Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR for the upcoming TCR International Series season.

After winning the European Touring Car Cup in 2015, Borkovic stuck with SEAT when switching across to the TCR International Series, racing in a León TCR also run by Hungarian team B3 Racing.

Despite taking six podiums and a pole position at Oschersleben in Germany, Borkovic failed to win a race last year, a result he will surely try to achieve this year in the new machinery.

“It is a challenge and a privilege for me to take part in improving a race car with such a tradition as the Alfa Romeo”, said Borkovic during a press conference in his homeland, Serbia.

The best result the Romeo Ferraris-built Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR achieved in 2016 was sixth place at Sochi, Russia, in the hands of Czech driver and former ETCC rival Petr Fulín.
