Turkington will fight to the end

Colin Turkington is determined not to give up on this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, despite a substantial points disadvantage in the build up to Brands Hatch. The team RAC MG driver will have to pull out all the stops to close the gap on leader Matt Neal.

“The MG has always flown at Brands Hatch and I think there’s the potential for a couple of wins there this time, but the championship is very much in Matt’s hands now.” Turkington told btcc.net.

The Northern Irishman now trails Team Halfords Matt Neal by 53 points after a frustrating engine failure at Knockhill.

“It’s important that we pick ourselves up quickly and move on to Brands Hatch,” he continued. “We’ve got a few new tricks on the car up our sleeves that I’m keen to try out and I think they will work. They could just keep us hanging in there and I want to make sure I at least take it to the wire for the fans.”
