Snetterton race 3: Onslow-Cole’s on top

Tom Onslow-Cole has won the third of the today’s three BTCC rounds at the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk, taking his first win in BTCC.

Starting from pole position, the 20-year-old led all the way in his Team RAC BMW for the first win of his BTCC career. He becomes the eighth different race winner to date in 2007’s championship.

Second was reigning champion Matt Neal who also set the race’s fastest lap in his Team Halfords Honda Civic.

Third and fourth, after their cars touched and ran off the track together, were title rivals, Vauxhall’s Fabrizio Giovanardi and SEAT’s Jason Plato.

Plato continues to lead the series but by the reduced margin of 14 points over Giovanardi as the series heads next for Brands Hatch, Kent on 19 August.
