TouringCarTimes Awards results – BTCC

The results of the TouringCarTimes Awards in the British Touring Car Championship category are in. Fabrizio Giovanardi has been elected best driver of the 2007 season with more than half the votes, 59%. Jason Plato gained 24% of the vote in second place. Vauxhall were convincing winners of the manufacturer class with 68% against SEAT at 32%.

Interestingly Motorbase Performance were voted higher than Team Halfords in the teams section where again this category was won by the Vauxhall team VXR.

Top privateer was taken by Team RAC driver Colin Turkington with 38% of the vote followed by Mat Jackson with 28%. Possible surprise of this section was Rick Kerry finishing in 5th place, higher than Tom Onslow-Cole and Matt Allison. Who, ironically, both finished higher than Rick in the Rookie category!

And coming out on top for entertainment value, the final rounds at Thruxton were voted the best meeting of 2007
